About Zam Green

Trusted 2026 rebate estimates — built on official sources.

Our mission

Zam Green helps homeowners understand how much they can save with heat pumps and clean energy upgrades. We combine federal Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) incentives, state programs, and utility rebates into one clear estimate so you can plan with confidence.

Commitment to 2026 Inflation Reduction Act accuracy

We are committed to reflecting 2026 IRA rules and amounts as accurately as possible. Our federal figures are based on current IRS guidance for the Section 25C residential clean energy credit (heat pump tax credit) and on official HEEHRA (Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates) program parameters. We update our logic and copy when rules or guidance change, and we clearly label all outputs as estimates. We do not provide tax or legal advice; always confirm eligibility and amounts with the IRS, your state energy office, and your utility before making decisions.

How we calculate rebates and savings

Our methodology is transparent and source-based:

  • Rebate stacking: We combine (1) the federal IRA 25C heat pump tax credit (fixed amount per current law), (2) HEEHRA upfront rebates where income-eligibility is estimated from your inputs, and (3) state and utility rebates when we have data for your zip or utility. Amounts and eligibility rules are derived from official or authoritative sources (e.g., IRS.gov, Rewiring America, state energy offices, utilities).
  • Energy savings: We model a heat pump with a coefficient of performance (COP) of 3.5 compared to your current heating (e.g., gas at ~95% efficiency, oil at ~85%). We use your average monthly heating bill and, where available, local electricity rates (including from .gov or .org sources such as OpenEI) to estimate annual savings. Install cost is a typical range; your net cost is install cost minus total rebates.
  • Data sources: We rely on government and trusted nonprofit sources. Every calculator page includes a visible "Data Sources" or "Verified Sources" section with links to official .gov or .org sites (e.g., IRS, DOE, Rewiring America, state energy offices, utilities) so you can verify program details yourself. See the Data Sources section on each calculator and city rebate page, and the links in the footer of this site.
