2026-2027 residential rebates
Hawaii Energy's 2026-2027 announcement lists a $1,250 instant rebate for a central AC retrofit, up to $550 per mini-split AC unit, and up to $700 for a heat pump water heater. It does not list a residential space-heating heat-pump rebate.
Who may qualify
The program is for electric utility ratepayers on Hawaii Island, Lanai, Maui, Molokai, and Oahu. Kauai is excluded from this program because it has a separate electric cooperative.
Equipment rules
The published announcement covers cooling equipment, cooling tune-ups, and heat pump water heaters. Do not use it as evidence of a residential space-heating heat-pump incentive without a separate current source.
Contractor rule
Use the contractor and equipment rules linked from the applicable Hawaii Energy rebate page. The announcement does not establish one universal contractor rule for every listed measure.
How to apply
Follow the current Hawaii Energy rebate instructions for the specific measure. The program is available now through June 30, 2027 while funding lasts.
Pre-approval
The announcement does not establish a universal pre-approval rule. Check the measure-specific terms before purchase or installation.
Timing and funding
The 2026-2027 program is available through June 30, 2027, first-come, first-served while funding lasts.
Documents to keep
Documents vary by measure. Confirm the current invoice, model, installer, and customer-account requirements before buying equipment.
Next review: Review before every quote because Hawaii Energy funding is first-come, first-served.
