2026 Sustainable Energy Program

LES lists a $1,000 incentive for an air-source or mini-split heat pump under 5.4 tons when it meets the rating or inverter requirements. Geothermal heat pump incentives range from $1,000 to $1,800 depending on EER and a desuperheater.

Who may qualify

The 2026 program applies to new and existing non-mobile residential buildings in the LES service territory. Funds are available January 1 through December 31, 2026 on a first-come, first-served basis or until expended.

Equipment rules

For air-source and mini-split systems, equipment must be AHRI rated and meet either EER2 of at least 12.0 plus SEER2 of at least 15.2, or be inverter-driven or variable-capacity with manufacturer documentation. A mechanical permit is required.

Contractor rule

LES asks customers to review participating contractors, obtain bids, and sign a quote with the selected contractor. A non-participating contractor requires instructions from LES before applying.

How to apply

After the customer signs a qualifying quote, the participating contractor submits the project to LES. The customer receives an LES credit on the contractor invoice after authorization.

Pre-approval

Pre-authorization is required before purchase or installation for qualifying incentives exceeding $5,000. LES strongly advises pre-authorization for other projects because funds are limited and reserved first-come, first-served.

Timing and funding

Projects without pre-authorization must be submitted to LES within 90 days of the invoice date. The 2026 fund window runs through December 31, 2026 or until funds are exhausted.

Documents to keep

AHRI certificates are required in all cases and the installed model numbers must match the certificate. Manufacturer documentation is also required when qualifying through the inverter-driven path.

Next review: Review monthly while the 2026 incentive balance remains available.

Check the provider before you buy

A city match is only a starting point. Confirm the utility named on the bill, the exact equipment model, contractor rule, application timing, and available funding. Use the provider source below as the final authority for a claim.

Verified locations and service states

This record covers Nebraska. The provider's service territory may not match every address in a city or state.
