HVAC Smart Rebates
OPPD's current landing page lists $265 for 16 SEER, $375 for 17, $450 for 18 or 19, and $525 for 20+ and all heat pumps. Its separate FAQ shows a shorter $265/$375 summary, so confirm the exact amount with OPPD before budgeting.
Who may qualify
The landing page requires a new air conditioner or heat pump rated at least 15.2 SEER2. The account and installation must be within OPPD's service territory, and OPPD's residential terms control final eligibility and funding.
Equipment rules
OPPD bases the rebate on the AHRI equipment rating and SEER or SEER2 level. The FAQ says systems under 2 tons receive half rebates unless they condition the whole house.
Contractor rule
OPPD tells customers to use a licensed heating and cooling contractor and encourages a Manual J or equivalent load calculation.
How to apply
Have the contractor submit the HVAC Smart paperwork through OPPD's rebate application. The FAQ also provides an online application path and says OPPD sends the check directly to the customer.
Pre-approval
The current landing page does not state a separate pre-approval step. Ask OPPD before ordering because program amounts can change and applications are subject to the program's funding rules.
Timing and funding
OPPD residential rebates are first-come, first-served and can be marked sold out. Its terms say funded programs typically reset between January 1 and January 10, with purchase and application deadlines controlled by the program type.
Documents to keep
The FAQ lists an electronic AHRI certificate from the HVAC contractor and a paid contractor invoice. Incomplete information can delay processing.
