Intervals and dates start as examples. Enter your exact owner-manual limits or oil-life monitor instructions. Severe service uses the limits you enter; this tool does not decide which schedule applies to your vehicle.

Earlier planned deadline2027-01-22

Time limit 2027-03-01, or 55,000 odometer miles, whichever comes first.

4,000 miles remaining. Mileage is projected to trigger first at your weekly driving.

The mileage date is a forecast from your reference-date odometer; driving changes can move it.

Formula Mileage limit = last service odometer + entered interval. Time limit = last service date + calendar months. Mileage forecast = remaining miles ÷ expected weekly miles × 7 days, rounded up. Use the earlier limit.

A saved plan does not override an oil-life monitor, maintenance warning or manufacturer instructions. History is entered manually; it is not verification that a service was performed. The calendar file includes a display alert one day before the deadline; your calendar app controls notifications. Calendar reminders do not update automatically if you later change the plan.

Saved plans stay in this browser. Names and entered prices are not sent with calculator analytics.

When is your next oil change due?

Enter the last service date and odometer, your current odometer on a chosen reference date, expected weekly driving and your exact manufacturer's mileage and calendar limits. The earlier limit sets the planning deadline. Normal and severe schedules are user-entered alternatives, not automatic recommendations. Example dates and intervals must be replaced before relying on a plan.

Worked example

An illustrative service on September 1, 2026 at 50,000 miles with a 5,000-mile or six-month limit is due by 55,000 miles or March 1, 2027. At 51,000 miles on October 2 and 250 future miles per week, 4,000 miles remain. That is 112 days, putting the mileage forecast on January 22, 2027, before the calendar limit.

How to use the result

The mileage forecast changes with future driving; it cannot reconstruct the date on which an already exceeded limit was reached. An oil-life monitor or manufacturer requirement can call for earlier service. Add entered services to the history, then Save plan to retain them in this browser. A downloaded calendar file is a fixed reminder and does not update when your inputs change.

Frequently asked questions

Is oil due by mileage or by time?
Use the earlier applicable manufacturer limit. Low annual mileage does not automatically remove the time limit. This planner compares the mileage and month limits you enter.
Does severe driving always mean a 3,000-mile interval?
No. Severe-service definitions and intervals vary by vehicle and procedure. The defaults are examples. Use the schedule and conditions in your exact owner manual or maintenance monitor instructions.
Can I save a service log and reminder?
Add this service to history records the entered last-service date and odometer in the current plan. Save plan keeps up to 20 entries locally on this browser. For an upcoming deadline, Download calendar reminder creates an all-day calendar file with a display alert one day before the deadline. Your calendar app controls notifications.
Does the forecast use today's date automatically?
No. The displayed reference date is an explicit input. Use today as reference date updates it from your browser's local calendar; also update the odometer to match that date.
